Build a workout playlist on Apple Watch
Updated 2 November 2026
Mid-set is the worst time to type on a watch. Line your videos up once — the queue plays them back to back, and the keepers collect in Favorites for next time.
To be clear about what this is: TubeWrist isn't a music app, and it can't import an Apple Music playlist. The queue is the playlist — videos you line up once, played one after another, stored only on the watch.
Step by step
- Find your videos before the session. Dictate a search — speaking is faster than typing on a watch — and open a channel to see everything they've posted.
- Add each one to the Queue. Tap Queue in the button row under the player. Autoplay takes from the queue before anything else, and it's on by default.
- Favorite the keepers. Tap the heart in the player's top bar. Favorites collect in the Library tab, so the next session starts two taps in.
- Play, and put the wrist down. With Audio Only on, it keeps playing like a podcast while you lift. Pause and skip from your AirPods or the watch face.
- Repeat the ones that work. Loop repeats a single video from the player's button row — handy for a track that keeps the pace up.
Tips
- Speed through the talky parts. Playback speed runs 0.5× to 2× and is remembered between videos.
- Replay yesterday's set. History records what actually started, and Recent Searches re-runs a search in one tap.
- Mind the data over cellular. Audio Only and the 480p cap keep a session reasonable — see battery and data.
- Your subscriptions count too. Optional Google sign-in adds Subscriptions, Liked and Watch Later under Settings ▸ My Videos.
Everything is unlocked for the first three days. After that, TubeWrist Pro is required to keep using the app.
