How to search for videos on Apple Watch
Updated 23 October 2026
Typing is the hardest thing to do on a watch. Here are the three ways to enter a search, and the shortcuts that save you from typing at all.
Three ways to type
- Dictation. Tap the microphone and say what you're looking for. It's the fastest way for most searches.
- Scribble. Draw letters on the screen with your finger, one at a time. Good where talking out loud isn't.
- Keyboard. Apple Watch Series 7 and later, and every Apple Watch Ultra, have an on-screen keyboard you can tap or swipe.
Search in TubeWrist
Open the Search tab. Suggestions appear as you type, so you can often stop after a word or two and tap one. Tap any result to play it on the watch.
Ways to skip typing
- Recent searches: tap one to run it again.
- Home tab: what's trending where you are.
- Channels: tap the channel row under a video to see everything that channel has posted.
- Up Next: related videos under every player.
- Favorites: tap the heart once, and find the video again in the Library tab.
Results in your language
Open Settings ▸ More ▸ Language and Region to change which language and country results come from. It takes effect on your next search or Home refresh.
