When a video asks you to sign in on Apple Watch
Updated 23 October 2026
Some videos won't play signed out: age-restricted ones, and sometimes any video on a busy shared network. TubeWrist's optional Google sign-in handles both, without typing a password on your watch.
Step by step
- Open Sign in with Google. In TubeWrist, open Settings ▸ Account ▸ Sign in with Google, and tap Get Sign-In Code.
- Approve on your phone. The watch shows a short code and a web address. On your phone or computer, go to that address, enter the code, and approve.
- Play the video again. The watch picks up the approval on its own. Account-gated videos should now play.
What signing in adds
- Age-restricted and account-gated videos play.
- My Videos appears under Settings ▸ Account, with your Subscriptions, Liked videos, and Watch Later.
Everything else works signed out, and buying TubeWrist Pro never requires signing in.
What happens to your account
Signing in doesn't create a TubeWrist account; there isn't one. The sign-in token is stored in the watch's Keychain and used only to request playback for you. TubeWrist runs no server, so it never leaves the watch. Signing out (Settings ▸ Account ▸ Sign Out) revokes access and deletes the token.
