Change video playback speed on Apple Watch
Updated 23 October 2026
Get through a long talk faster, or slow a tutorial down to follow along. TubeWrist plays video and audio at seven speeds, right on the watch.
Step by step
- Open the speed control. While a video plays, scroll to the button row under the player and tap the speed button. It shows your current speed, such as 1×.
- Pick a speed. Choose 0.5×, 0.75×, 1×, 1.25×, 1.5×, 1.75×, or 2×.
- Keep going. TubeWrist remembers your choice, so the next video plays at the same speed until you change it.
Which speed for what
- 1.25× to 1.5×: interviews, podcasts, and lectures. Most speech stays easy to follow.
- 1.75× to 2×: content you've heard before, or slow talkers.
- 0.75× or 0.5×: tutorials, language learning, and music you want to pick apart.
Pair it with audio-only mode
For talks and lectures, audio-only mode drops the picture and keeps playing with your wrist down. Combined with a faster speed, it turns a commute into an hour of listening.
Playback speed is part of TubeWrist Pro, and unlocked for everyone during the first three days.
