How to install apps on Apple Watch
Updated 23 October 2026
There are three ways to get an app onto your Apple Watch. If one you bought isn't showing up, the fix is usually in the Watch app on your iPhone.
Step by step
- From the watch. Open the App Store on your Apple Watch, search for the app, and tap the price or Get.
- From your iPhone. Get the app from the App Store on your iPhone. If it doesn't appear on the watch, open the Watch app on the iPhone, tap My Watch, scroll to Available Apps, and tap Install next to it.
- Automatically. In the Watch app on your iPhone, go to General and turn on Automatic App Install. Watch apps you get on the iPhone then install on the watch by themselves.
If an app is missing from your watch
- Check watchOS. Apps list a minimum version; TubeWrist needs watchOS 10. Settings ▸ General ▸ About on the watch shows yours.
- Check storage. Settings ▸ General ▸ Storage on the watch.
- Install from the Watch app. My Watch ▸ Available Apps ▸ Install.
- Restart the watch. Hold the side button, then tap the power button and slide.
Installing TubeWrist
TubeWrist is a $1.99 download that runs on the watch itself. It comes with a small iPhone app, used only for buying and restoring TubeWrist Pro, because watch-only apps can't sell in-app purchases. Video never plays on the iPhone.
